[One might have this question in mind -- how has she gone this long without actually speaking up on the steamgear network? Well, between her trying to sift around for clues to where the hell she is and her attempts to figure out what she's going to do from here, she's been rather...stumped probably isn't the right word. No, far from it. Pissed? On the scale of 'nothing she can't handle' to 'explosively mad' she'd be somewhere in between, leaning towards 'halfway to frustrated'. She's more patient than that. Not to mention, it wouldn't be the first time she's taken a serious detour like this. It still left her with a huge problem, though. She still had the Reapers to deal with, damnit; she couldn't afford to be stuck here when she had that particular loose end. She was, at that point in time, the only one who could take the threat head-on and survive. Why would she be pried out of her home galaxy and placed in a world like this one when her galaxy still needs her, even if she's not exactly the most liked due to her perceived betrayal?

It's with that in mind that, after taking a brief moment of her time to figure out how the steamgear actually works, that she makes an audio feed--though it doesn't come with the sound of a couple of thwacks here and there. Stupid thing...]

--not be faulty. Last thing I need is something that won't even work while my omni-tool isn't even in working shape...

Oh, finally. About time. This is Commander Shepard of the Normandy -- if anyone could shed some light on why I got sucked all the way out into the middle of nowhere without my ship, I'd appreciate it. Being stuck in the dark? Not exactly the way I want things to be.

By the way, whoever's responsible for bringing us here needs to at least leave us a place to stay. Would do us a whole lot of good, you know.

That's all for now.

[And the feed cuts.]

There are houses in the Residential Quarter. [Duh. That's why it's named that.] And I hope you're good at fixing things, because apparently we need a mechanic.

There should be a map for you to follow. [Don't you look at her in that tone of voice.]

Good. We could use someone with actual expertise.

A good question. No one seems to know.

[so helpful Black Jack.]

Veloxia herself is covered in a force field of some sort, though she's the one we're meant to repair. [God, when did her life become a scifi novel.] To be honest, I haven't the faintest of what's actually wrong.

[Damnit Vel, she's a doctor not a mechanic.]

Hate to admit it, but any information I can give you is more or less all hearsay to me.

Some kind of AI, Veloxia, needs to be fixed. Has some way of bringing us here, and either can't or won't send us back until we fix it, but sure can't seem to fucking tell us what it wants to do.

Real fucking convenient.

[The woman on a blank background pulled out a cigarette and lighter and began to puff on it.]

Well, as a bodiless AI construct that is, right now, only networked up to these comm devices? I can't tell you.

Until someone networks me up to something else on this island, all I am is a calculator and an encyclopedia you can consult.

I'm not native to this area, but I'm networked up to the comm. system.

I'm used to having a lot more systems. Sensors, cameras... it's kind of claustrophobic feeling. Almost a sort of sensory deprivation to be here.

You can stay wherever you want! Just pick one of the houses in the Residential Quarter.

[It sounds like a young girl is on the end of this line for the role of helpful NPC tonight.]

We were brought here to fix Veloxia, the computer. We won't be able to be sent back until she is fixed, unfortunately.

Hmmm--unfortunately, in that part we don't have a fucking clue what sort of damage has been done or what Veloxia needs. Not yet anyway. I think the only people that would be likely to know are the ladies that were here when the first batch of people arrived.

I have asked a few of the ones that were here before me, but none of them have a clue either. So I am going to assume...they did not ask or those women don't have a fucking clue either.

[Sigh.]

I can offer my own diagnosis? I know a little about robotics myself. Since Veloxia is very weak and seems to have trouble with functioning, it could be a hardware and power problem. So if we find her power source and a way to upgrade her hardware, maybe that would help her along?

Let's see... you, along with everyone else, has been brought here by a robot who wants to be fixed. Because of that, we don't have much to go on.

And there is places to stay, check the east part of the city.

Entirely likely. Although I have trouble getting a hold of anyone who may actually have a clue.

Hey, if you need a place to stay for a while, there's an extra bedroom over here.

[That's Laguna for ya. Just casually inviting strangers to stay with her.]

Not that it's really that hard to find your own... the whole city's pretty abandoned, but there's lots of nice places with furniture and everything all set up. You can pretty much take your pick, if no one's claimed 'em already.
