[One might have this question in mind -- how has she gone this long without actually speaking up on the steamgear network? Well, between her trying to sift around for clues to where the hell she is and her attempts to figure out what she's going to do from here, she's been rather...stumped probably isn't the right word. No, far from it. Pissed? On the scale of 'nothing she can't handle' to 'explosively mad' she'd be somewhere in between, leaning towards 'halfway to frustrated'. She's more patient than that. Not to mention, it wouldn't be the first time she's taken a serious detour like this. It still left her with a huge problem, though. She still had the Reapers to deal with, damnit; she couldn't afford to be stuck here when she had that particular loose end. She was, at that point in time, the only one who could take the threat head-on and survive. Why would she be pried out of her home galaxy and placed in a world like this one when her galaxy still needs her, even if she's not exactly the most liked due to her perceived betrayal?
It's with that in mind that, after taking a brief moment of her time to figure out how the steamgear actually works, that she makes an audio feed--though it doesn't come with the sound of a couple of thwacks here and there. Stupid thing...]
--not be faulty. Last thing I need is something that won't even work while my omni-tool isn't even in working shape...
Oh, finally. About time. This is Commander Shepard of the Normandy -- if anyone could shed some light on why I got sucked all the way out into the middle of nowhere without my ship, I'd appreciate it. Being stuck in the dark? Not exactly the way I want things to be.
By the way, whoever's responsible for bringing us here needs to at least leave us a place to stay. Would do us a whole lot of good, you know.
That's all for now.
[And the feed cuts.]

Remind me to double-check the entire city, I might be going blind. [Flat tone. You can just imagine the straight face she's making.]
Fixing tech happens to be up my alley.
Voice
Good. We could use someone with actual expertise.

tinker tinker tinker.]
So where's the problem, anyway?
Voice
[so helpful Black Jack.]
Veloxia herself is covered in a force field of some sort, though she's the one we're meant to repair. [God, when did her life become a scifi novel.] To be honest, I haven't the faintest of what's actually wrong.
[Damnit Vel, she's a doctor not a mechanic.]
Voice
Wait, what? If she's the one we're supposed to be fixing, why the hell is she blocked off?

Re: Video
Real fucking convenient.
[The woman on a blank background pulled out a cigarette and lighter and began to puff on it.]
Video
Would have been really nice to at least have a direction. How bad is it?
Re: Video
Until someone networks me up to something else on this island, all I am is a calculator and an encyclopedia you can consult.
Video
Hold on just one moment. Are you part of the network in this area -- wherever it is, or what?
Re: Video
I'm used to having a lot more systems. Sensors, cameras... it's kind of claustrophobic feeling. Almost a sort of sensory deprivation to be here.
[voice]
[It sounds like a young girl is on the end of this line for the role of helpful NPC tonight.]
We were brought here to fix Veloxia, the computer. We won't be able to be sent back until she is fixed, unfortunately.
[voice]
Still, what kind of damage are we talking about?
[voice]
[voice]
Were you able to ask anyone from that batch, or what? [She's hoping that this girl's one of them, seriously hoping; it'd be a boon to whatever effort she needs to make.]
[voice]
[Sigh.]
I can offer my own diagnosis? I know a little about robotics myself. Since Veloxia is very weak and seems to have trouble with functioning, it could be a hardware and power problem. So if we find her power source and a way to upgrade her hardware, maybe that would help her along?
[voice]
And there is places to stay, check the east part of the city.
[voice]
I'd hope that you have more to go on, but it sounds like things are real murky at present.
[voice]
[voice] Sorry! I had an event thread to focus on elsewhere.
Is it safe to assume everyone else is in the dark, too?
[voice]
[voice]
[That's Laguna for ya. Just casually inviting strangers to stay with her.]
Not that it's really that hard to find your own... the whole city's pretty abandoned, but there's lots of nice places with furniture and everything all set up. You can pretty much take your pick, if no one's claimed 'em already.
