[Suruga is in the Merchant Quarter, at a bookstore. Not that it'd be obvious she was digging for porn, if you saw her, but she's trying to find something to remind her of home. Or see if this place is in the same universe at all.
She keeps turning the Steamgear on accidentally; normally she catches it before it does anything, but not this time!
It lands with a loud 'clunk' on the ground, and she picks it up, staring at it.]
Dammit, did I turn it on again? [Oh yup, it's recording, Suruga, better say something.
She grins, waving.]
So, even though this place is weirdly empty, there's actually a lot of cool stuff here! I'm... assuming it's ok to take the books, right? I'll bring them back. We could start a book club or something! [She laughs, trying to talk about something that could bring some more normalcy back into the place.]
Seriously though, there's a whole lot of stuff to explore around here. Tell me if any of you girls are up for it! Or the book club thing, you know, that's cool too. [She grins again and winks, turning the video off.]

Have you found anything interesting? Anything that might say how to get back home?
no subject
A book club is just where a bunch of people read the same book and then talk about it, really. I was mostly joking, but if it's something people would actually like I wouldn't mind it! [She laughs.
And no... not yet. I'm still looking around though. I was hoping to even just find something on the history of this place...

[ She wants to meet people, even if she's a little shy, if only because the more people she meets the better chance she thinks she can find a way back home. ]
It's not normal, for people to just up and leave everything behind. Something must have happened..
no subject
[She nods.] Yeah, it definitely is weird... That's part of the reason why I want to look around, I figured I'd be able to find something out, someway.
no subject
Well, if you find anything written in Lunarian I can help. [ Really, she just wants to be useful.. ]
no subject
[Lunarian?] I have no idea what that language looks like, but if I see anything weird I'll let you know! Thanks for offering. [She's beaming, even though you can't see it]
no subject
Yeah, that's probably true. I really miss home and my Master already.
No problem. I just want to try and help however I can.
no subject
I understand. I'm just worried about the people at home. [She doesn't touch the 'Master' thing, since the only thing she can think to do is make a sex joke, and she knows that's not cool]
Yeah, but that's really nice! People could avoid it if they wanted, you know? It's nice to know that there's people out there I could ask for help... potentially, anyway.
no subject
I'm sure we're all worried about the people we left at home. We just have to work together to figure out a way back to them, I think.
Rabbits are the very best helpers! When they aren't being distracted by sweet things. So you can trust in me if you need help. ...A-As long as it's not dangerous.

A book club sounds fun! Maybe we could try and organize a library or something.
no subject
I'm up for it, why not? I don't know if there's a library or not, but there's a ton of books in this store. They're all over the floor now, of course, but I could probably go through it.
no subject
That's not surprising... I mean, nearly everything here is broken or breaking down. But we could start setting up places we could use… I mean, it’s not like anyone else is using any of it.
[ Sigh. ]
Are there any other bookstores around or did you just find the one?
no subject
I only saw this one, but I didn't actually walk around the whole place yet. There could be more!
no subject
[ maybe she should start looking around for some books on machine maintenance. ]
I'll start looking, too! The more we find, the better. We can start organizing some stores for food and clothes and stuff, too.
no subject
[She beams] Awesome! Let me know if you see anything interesting? We can talk to each other individually on this thing, right...? [She's not used to much more than a cellphone]
I think that's a great idea! From what I've seen, a lot of stuff is usable or probably can be fixed, if some of us just put a little effort into it.

[ Honestly, Stephanie's still just impressed that she could pull people here in the first place. She gives Kanbaru a smile in return, looking pleased by the approval. ]
I think so! I've been messing with it a bit and I'm pretty sure you can just use it like a cellphone, if you don't want to put something on the network.
If I find anything that's useful, I'll give you a call!
no subject
Thank you! I'll do the same thing for you, ok? Oh... it might help to have your name, right? [She'd be rubbing the back of her head right now]
I'm Suruga. Suruga Kanbaru. It's nice to meet you!
no subject
[ Yep, way to stutter and stammer your way through that, Stephanie. Smooth. She's just glad Suruga can't see how red she's gone. Talking over the phone is a hell of a lot easier than talking in person -- much easier to cover up your screwups. ]
I'm Stephanie. It's nice to meet you too! Even if the circumstances are a little... well, a lot weird.
no subject
[She didn't have a mother to teach her not to talk to strangers, sorry.]
no subject
That'd be cool! Where are you at? I could meet you somewhere, if you wanted.

[And wait she does, sitting by the grass, hands neatly clasped on her lap. Her hair is caught in two braids that rest on her shoulders, framing her petite figure over a pale yellow dress.]
[Action!]
She saw a girl sitting outside of the lighthouse, and waved. It occurred to her that maybe she should've asked her name before. She called out.
"Hey! You're the girl I talked to before, right? Sorry I didn't ask your name before... I'm Suruga Kanbaru!"
[OOC: If you wanted the style of the tags to be more simplified that's totally ok, just let me know!]

Mary's gaze lifted, lips pressed together, brows arched curiously. She spent a moment watching the other girl before she lifted herself, ready with a smile, dusting off her dress, then clasping her hands behind her with a soft shrug.
"Hello - it's nice to meet you."
Her expression was kind, collected. Her part was of a proper young girl, and she played it well.
"My name is Mary."

"Hey, um... can I ask you a weird question? If I say I'm from Japan, do you have any idea where I'm talking about?" With how many people she'd met that had to be from a different world or time period or something, she wanted to figure this stuff out right off the bat.
no subject
There was a slight tilt of her head with her question. She was certain of her words, but still acted as though she were ready to be corrected.
